Dr. Triloki Nath

Welcome! I am Dr. Triloki Nath, currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur (U. P.), India.

I am passionate about the elegance and power of Mathematics, both in exploring its theoretical depths and in sharing its beauty with students. My journey in academia has been driven by a deep interest in Optimization Theory and Analysis, alongside a commitment to effective teaching at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.

Academic Journey & Foundation

My academic roots are firmly planted at the prestigious Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, where I completed both my foundational and advanced studies:

  • Ph.D. in Mathematics (2011)
    • Thesis Title: Some Problems on Nonsmooth Vector Optimization
  • M.Sc. in Mathematics (2003)

During my research tenure, I was privileged to be supported by the CSIR NET JRF and SRF (Junior and Senior Research Fellowship), a testament to early academic promise. Furthermore, I achieved a GATE qualification with an All India Rank of 4 (99.86 percentile), leading to an interview call for the esteemed SPMF. These experiences solidified my dedication to mathematical research and education.

My teaching career spans over twelve and a half years, providing me with rich experience across diverse academic environments and levels (UG, PG, and Ph.D.):

Through these roles, I've had the opportunity to mentor students, design curricula, and contribute to the academic fabric of these respected institutions.

Research Focus & Contributions

My research primarily delves into the fascinating world of Optimization and Analysis. My key areas of interest include:

  • Optimization Theory: Nonsmooth Analysis, Variational Inequality, Convex Optimization
  • Geometric Functional Analysis
  • Elementary Number Theory

Over approximately 12 years of research experience, I have actively contributed through:

  • Ph.D. Supervision: Successfully guided one Ph.D. student to completion (Thesis: Enhanced Stationarity and Constraint Qualification for Mathematical Programs with Vanishing Constraints) and currently co-supervising another promising doctoral candidate.
  • Research Funding: Completed a UGC-Startup Grant Research Project of Rs. Six Lakhs.
